7/22/2026

We are proud to announce the publication of what is among the first scholarly books in the Western Balkans—and one of the first in the wider region—to address the intersection of law, criminal justice, and renewable energy:
📘 Prediction and Prevention of Crime in the Renewable Energy Sector in the Republic of North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina: A Comparative Approach
The book is the result of a successful international academic collaboration that brings together expertise from criminal law, business and energy law, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and security studies. As renewable energy becomes a cornerstone of sustainable development and energy transition, it also creates new legal, regulatory, and security challenges that require interdisciplinary research and innovative solutions.
This publication provides a comparative analysis of North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, offering insights into crime prevention, legal protection of renewable energy infrastructure, cyber threats, and contemporary security risks affecting the energy sector.
👥 Authors:
Prof. Dr. Atanas Kozarev – Full Professor of Criminal Law, founder of the Association for Corporate and Digital Security – Skopje, and author of numerous university textbooks in criminal law, criminology, and security studies.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serjozha I. Markov – Associate Professor of Business Law, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in North Macedonia, Attorney-at-Law, and author of the university textbook Energy Law, the first of its kind in North Macedonia.
Dr. Inda Kreso – Researcher in cybersecurity, digital forensics, critical infrastructure protection, ICS/OT security, energy security, and cyber resilience.
We sincerely hope that this book will contribute to further academic research, evidence-based policymaking, and stronger regional cooperation in protecting the renewable energy sector from emerging criminal and cyber threats.
Our sincere gratitude goes to everyone who supported this project and believed in the importance of interdisciplinary and international scientific cooperation.
